The New Yorks have been an absolute mess this offseason. They let go of Phil Jackson (to the cheers of many) and signed Tim Hardaway Jr. to a ridiculously large deal. But now, it’s all about Carmelo Anthony.
Anthony has a full no-trade clause, but he said he would be willing to waive it for the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Houston Rockets. In Melo’s mind, he has one end destination in sight.
“I’m told Carmelo feels pretty confident that a deal will get done at this point to Houston,” said Ian Begley of ESPN.
The deal has been rumored to involve forward Ryan Anderson, but the Knicks do not want to take his contract on and will likely involve a third team, according to Real GM.
Anthony joining the Rockets would set up a very interesting situation in Houston. Chris Paul, James Harden and Carmelo Anthony would be quite the offensive explosion. As for the defensive end, Paul is the only one who really adds anything.
There is no denying, though, adding Carmelo Anthony would make the Houston Rockets even more fun to watch.
